About

Hi, I am Carina and I live in the Netherlands.I first started writing poetry when I was thirteen. It helped me navigate a very difficult time in my life. These days, I write about anything, including emotions, events and whatever is on my mind. Poems are the shape my spirit takes when it wants to speak.A few of my poems have been published in four different Dutch poetry bundles. They earned a place in those bundles through poetry contests.On the 16th of November 2023, one of my poem's line was set in stone, literally! It was carved into a stair in a village called Rozenburg. Along with two other residents, I won the contest. A year of my thoughts
This book of 366 poems, (yes, it was written during the leap year of 2024) was published in 2025. It all began on the 4th of December 2023. I asked myself, "What is my next step?" Then the idea of writing one poem every day came to mind. So I did just that.What started as a personal journey to improve my writing, explore the depths of my own discipline, and discover what I was capable of, slowly turned into something more.
After a few months, the thought of turning it into a book began to shape.In this book, you'll find my raw thoughts and emotions. Some poems where born from dark moments, when tears wouldn't stop falling. Others are messages I simply had to share with you. Joy, gratitude, and laughter also find their place here. They shine throughout the pages as gentle reminders that even in hard times, light can break through. I believe life is a never-ending journey, and every emotion has its place along the way.
